Make a deck — five steps

For anyone who needs a presentation and has the content (or just the topic) but not the design.

Start a new deck
Step by step
  1. 1
    1. What it’s about

Start with whatever you have: type or paste it, attach a PDF, Word file or PowerPoint, or start from your website. Press “Start →”. Nothing is charged.

  2. 2
    2. The story

For anything longer than a line, we read it and say back what the deck will argue. Pick who will see it and the angle — or write your own — and press “Continue →”.

  3. 3
    3. The look

Pick one of our looks, your website’s own look, a saved brand, or paste or upload a picture of a design you like. Add your logo if you want. Press “Make the plan →”.

  4. 4
    4. The plan

One page at a time: change any title or point, pick the kind of page, move, remove or add pages. The front cover is page 1 and the back cover is the last page. Tick that the material is yours to use — it is right above the plan.

  5. 5
    5. Page one, then the rest

Press “Preview page one” to see a real finished page in your look — free on your first deck, then one page’s price — and it becomes page one of the deck, so it is never paid for twice. Then press “Build the other pages” (or “Build all” to skip the preview), paid from your balance or by card right on the page. Pages arrive as they are drawn. You can close the page: the deck keeps building, and we email you when it is ready.

  6. 6
    6. Edit, present & download

Click a page and ask for a change beside it — only that page changes. Then present it, download the PowerPoint or PDF, or share a link. The deck is saved to My files.

Tips
  • A deck costs a dollar a page — $1 each, so 12 pages is $12 and 4 pages is $4. The story and the plan are free. Page one is free on your first deck, then one page’s price — and it becomes page one of the deck, so it is never paid for twice.
  • Changing a slide by chat: the first change on each slide is free, then 8¢ a change — what the redraw costs us. Redrawing a slide from scratch is $1. Retrying a slide that failed is free within 6 hours of the failure.
  • The plan is the deck. Fix the wording on the plan, before you build, and you won’t need changes after.
  • Paste an image on the first screen or the look step (Ctrl+V) and it becomes the look.
  • A PowerPoint can be given a new design with the same words, a new design with better words, or keep its design with new words.
  • Read it off your website: paste the address and we read the pages that carry the story, then show you the angle before anything is made. Anything we add that is not from your site is listed so you can remove it. We never invent a statistic or a dollar figure.
  • A PDF that is pictures of pages still works — we read the words off each page, up to 40 pages.
  • Logos are your real files, placed by code on every slide — never redrawn. Save your logo and colors once on the Brands page.
  • Each slide arrives as a designed picture, so it looks the same everywhere — and its words cannot be retyped in PowerPoint afterwards. Make changes here, in the chat.
  • For Google Slides, upload the .pptx to Google Drive, then right-click it and choose Open with → Google Slides.
  • Stuck on something? The Help chat in the corner of every page answers questions about your deck and your account straight away.
If something goes wrong

The messages the page can show, and what to do.

“That does not look like a public web address.”
Only public websites can be read. A local address, an internal company address or a file path is refused on purpose.
“That page had almost no readable text on it.”
The page is probably built entirely from pictures. Try another page on the same site — an About or Services page usually has the most words.
“That PDF is N pages of pictures with no text in it. We can read up to 40 pages that way…”
The file is too long to read page by page. Split it, upload the PowerPoint or Word file it came from, or type what the deck is about.
“Upload an image of the look to copy.”
The look must be an image — a JPG, PNG or screenshot of the design.
“Please confirm the content and the look are yours to use.”
Tick the “mine to use” box right above the plan.
“Slide N didn’t build.”
One slide failed while the rest came through. Press “Retry — free” on that slide.
“The deck failed to build.”
The whole run failed and nothing was charged. Press Build again.
“That fix failed — say it differently.”
Name the change: “make the title bigger”, “change the third bullet to…”.
“Could not reach the maker — try again.”
Your connection dropped for a moment. Check you’re online and press the button again. A job that fails is never charged.
“This costs … and you have … in credit. Pay by card for just this, or add credit on your Account page.”
Your balance can’t cover this. Pay by card for just this deck, or add money on the Account page — your work carries on from where you left off. Nothing was charged.
